Shiprock is a 1,583-foot volcanic rock formation in northwestern New Mexico. Known to the Navajo as Tsé Bitʼaʼí, the "rock with wings", it is the sacred eroded core of an ancient volcano formed roughly 27 million years ago. The peak sits entirely on the Navajo Nation. This painting is the artists rendering of this stormy peak. The Black ceramic mug is a dramatic landscape — storm clouds, lightning, and the lone mountain rimmed by lightning and storm clouds. The deep black gloss of the mug makes the colors pop, giving the scene a moody, cinematic feel. Hold it morning or night as a quiet ritual: warm hands around the C-handle, steam rising against the dark rim, and that small, vivid world to focus on. This mug suits someone who loves brooding art, fantasy landscapes, and objects that feel like a personal talisman during creative work or reflective moments. Durable for daily use and safe for microwave and dishwasher, it keeps the image bright through regular routines while staying easy to care for.
The canvas is framed and is still available, it is a 16X20 oil on canvas. Sadly it has been damaged while packing for an art show but has been repaired by the artist. The tear is hard to find to the naked eye unless you turn the canvas over. It is a testament to the stormy photo which sits upon the surface. Price has been reduced a bit.
